About The Assessment:
As a DASA Ambassador for the US, I’ve found that measuring oneself against the DASA DevOps Leadership Framework closely aligns with the concept of a Thoughtful Leader, as described in the book, Transact, Transform, Transcend, Becoming a Thoughtful Leader: Stories from the Journey , which I have co-authored with Dr. Kenneth Russell.
This connection is important because being a Thoughtful Leader reflects the mindset and behaviors I’ve observed in the most successful individuals and leaders worldwide—how they think, act, and do in both their personal and professional lives as they LLIIVEE and LEAD (live & lead).
My recommendation is to take this assessment and keep a copy of the results to establish your starting point or initial measure of yourself. As time goes on, retake this assessment and compare to your previous results.
Thank you for taking this assessment, I hope you find it helpful,
~ John R
DASA (DevOps Agile Skills Association) is considered the leading standards organization in Europe. Their claim to value is to be the world’s leading body of knowledge in leadership, adoption, and transformation, providing leaders the knowledge and strategies to succeed. Myself and Dr. Kenneth Russell contribute in authoring these global standards and strategies in leadership, adoption, and transformation for leaders and organizations around the globe.
My network of world class recognized leadership coaches and DASA Ambassadors enables myself, working with other coaches and ambassadors when needed, the ability to provide a globally coordinated real time, real world approach and leadership safety net, based on DASA’s standards and strategies, for you and your leadership team to achieve the greatest results by experiential learning.
ABOUT YOUR RESULTS – When you select the ‘submit ratings’ button after taking the self-assessment, a copy of your results is stored by the forms tool which allows future retrieval of your results. To go back in time to retrieve your results is typically done by using the first and last name entered into the form.
OBTAINING A COPY OF YOUR SELF-ASSESSMENT – There are a few options for how you can obtain a copy of your self-assessment
- Provide Your Email – There is a field provided where you can enter your email. When you select the ‘submit ratings’ button, a copy of your self-assessment is automatically emailed to you.
- Take screen shots or pictures of your self-assessment before you select the ‘submit ratings’ button.
I WANT TO BE ANONYMOUS – For anonymity, here are some ideas:
- Use an alias first and last name which we can use to retrieve your saved results… be sure to document the alias name.
- If you do not enter a first and last name, document the date and time you selected the ‘submit ratings’ button. If multiple people submitted at the same time without entering a name, there may be some figuring out to do on which result is yours
- If you want to take the self-assessment and NOT hit the submit ratings button to save the results, that is ok. The calculation fields of the form work in real-time. One idea is for you to fill out the form, take a screen shot or picture of it. Instead of selecting ‘submit’, exit the page.
- Beware that if you use the form in real time, the form will allow you to use a rating value other than 1-5 which will skew the numbers. Please be sure you are rating yourself using the values 1-5.
Thoughtfulness Self-Assessment:
Below are the fields to fill out for the assessment. The required fields are used to calculate your results. Please enter a value of 1 to 5 in the required fields.
1 = this is not me
5 = this is absolutely me
Thank you in advance for taking the time and investing into yourself to empower yourself!
~ John
